We’re now going to bring you back to some memories, to set the stage of who Addie is. Today, was the day she came home.
It was a hot summer day in June that Addie was welcomed into her new home. We live on a large recreational pond where the summer is filled with boating and swimming. We took Addie on the boat, and once again…she stole the show. Everyone loved her color and personality…she definitely going to be a pond dog.
Even though she was only 8 weeks old, we thought we’d try to let her swim. We went to a beach and let her out of the boat. One paw, then the next and she was swimming away! We knew we had a crazy puppy if she was able to swim laps at only 8 weeks old.
As her time on the water progressed, she got a little more…brave. We pulled the boat up to the dock and she was ready to keep the fun going. She jumped off the boat and plop, right into the water she went. She had a little learning to do when it comes to how big she really is.
We jumped in the water and scooped her out…she was pretty unfazed by the whole experience. I guess a quick dunk in the water never hurt anybody…
We took her inside and dried her off, she instantly passed out. Safe to say she had a good first day in her new home and that we were the right home for each other.
Today’s Lesson: take a chance, just because you don’t think you can do something, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. The outcome could be greater than you expected.
