We did a little extra this week to celebrate Miss Addie’s 3rd birthday! She’s been putting in so much work to take care of her puppies and deserved to be spoiled.

We received a box from Bucket and Bones, which is a subscription based box, full of ingredients and tools to make homemade, healthy dog treats for your furry friends!
With every box sold, Bucket and Bones purchases bags of dog food for local shelters – how nice is that! For every four subscription boxes bought, a bag of dog food is bought for a shelter in need!
We love that Bucket and Bones is doing their part to support their local community!
But, what comes in the box?
When I opened the box, I felt like it was bottomless. Every layer of tissue paper I pulled off revealed more and more goodies. I actually didn’t’ even realize they had provided cookie cutters initially, because I couldn’t believe how much stuff I had taken out already!
The box includes pre-packaged ingredients, instructions on how to cook the bones, a newsletter on what Bucket and Bones (their dogs) have been up to, the cookie cutters and little doggy bags for the treats to go in. The ingredients are very organized and labeled in individual, sealed bags.
The Bucket and Bones box is SO easy – you don’t even need to measure the ingredients because they do it for you! How simple is that?
All you need to do is follow the instructions on the order of ingredients, roll the dough and start cutting!
We were lucky to have some helpers in the kitchen while we were making these yummy treats. They really wanted to lick the bowls clean…
We only ended up making half a batch for the girls and there was more than enough cookies for them. I had never baked dog treats before, but I’m looking forward to doing it again now!
I’ll make the second half of the cookies for Addie when the puppies go to their new homes to cheer her up…
Once we rolled out the dough and cut it with out cookie cutters, we threw them in the oven until they were starting to brown. We had some helpers waiting to taste test them out of the oven too…
Each month, a new box is released with pre-packaged ingredients, instructions, newsletter, cookie cutters and little doggy bags! It was a fun afternoon activity and the girls were very happy with the results.
These boxes would make awesome gifts for first time dog owners, for the dog lover who you can’t decide what to get for the next holiday, birthdays and more. The ingredients are healthy and you’re supporting local shelters at the same time.
