As you all know, Ivy can be a devil. She does everything she possibly can to test my patience and she’s good at it.
We started working with Diggs – a company that is creating innovative dog products, that teach your dog to be comfortable in their crate – and are loving them!
They are working to reimagine and redevelop dog crates and tools that aid in the crate training experience.
We started off by testing the Groov by Diggs – a training aid that helps your dog feel calm while they’re in their crate.
The Groov is made of an all natural, VERY durable rubber which will outlast the chews of most dogs. You can add peanut butter to it, some softened food, or even create popsicles with it! It comes with a freezer shell, which allows you to add whatever you want, stick it in the freezer and pull it out a short time later for a longer-lasting treat while your pup is in their crate.
They’ve designed the Groov so you can turn it horizontally and keep it from moving while your dog is licking it.
The best part about this product, is that it works with an existing crate or kennel and is extremely durable. You can tell a TON of engineering went into creating this and that Diggs is really prioritizing your dog and their safety in their products.
As your dog licks the Groov, endorphins are released which calms them down. This is a great tool to use whether you’re at the beginning of crate training, or you’re reverting back to crate training like we are…thanks Izzy…
Using the Groov and teaching Ivy that her crate is a safe and comfortable environment for her has been so helpful! She’s a very anxious girl compared to Miss Addie.
They’re also great to use even if you just need some time to yourself. I often have the crate open, but stick the Groov in there with some frozen peanut butter to keep Ivy occupied. Once she’s done eating it, she settles in and naps…which finally gives me an hour or so to myself.
Once the weather get’s a little warmer, I plan to freeze my Groov with just water and some fruits so Ivy can cool off on those hot summer days and enjoy a little treat in her crate.
I truly believe this training aid has helped Ivy adapt to her crate and feel more comfortable when she is alone. When the puppies come around within the next few weeks, I hope to use it to help her adjust to her new friends.
By having the Groov between her and the puppies, she can get used to being comfortable around them, but still be separated from them. While she licks it, she’ll feel comfortable and relaxed and adjust to the new scents and sounds around her.
We are so thankful to the team at Diggs and are so excited to review some of their up and coming products. You can tell their team really cares about your pets and are working hard to create innovative solutions to make both yours and their lives better. Using the Groov has helped Ivy relieve some of her anxiety and I’m sure it would help your dog’s too!
